Sweatfolk – Terms & Conditions & Liability Waiver

Effective location: NRMA Bright Caravan Park (mobile, wood-fired sauna)

By booking with Sweatfolk, you acknowledge and agree to the conditions below. It is your responsibility to ensure all members of your group have read and accepted these terms. Sweatfolk may refuse or terminate service if these conditions are breached or if behaviour poses a safety risk.

1. Acknowledgment of Risks

Guided wood-fired sauna sessions involve inherent risks. Sweatfolk takes reasonable steps to reduce hazards and operates in line with Victorian health and safety expectations, but the following risks may still occur:

  • Slippery surfaces from water, condensation, or debris
  • Exposure to elevated temperatures and hot surfaces
  • Burns or injury from stoves, fire pits, or related equipment
  • Handling of firewood or heated materials (when directed)
  • Dehydration, dizziness, heat-related illness
  • Contact/collisions with other participants or objects
  • Exposure to airborne or communicable illnesses
  • Equipment defects despite regular maintenance
  • Other predictable or unpredictable risks inherent to sauna use

Your participation is voluntary, and you accept these risks as a condition of entry.

2. Representation of Fitness

By participating, you confirm that none of the following apply to you:

  • Pregnancy
  • Heart disease, circulatory problems, or unstable blood pressure
  • Diabetes or seizure disorders (incl. epilepsy)
  • Infectious skin conditions, open wounds, or sores
  • Inability to perspire due to illness/medication
  • Alcohol or drug consumption prior to session
  • Heavy meal within 90 minutes before sauna
  • Migraines or other conditions making sauna inadvisable

If you are unsure, please consult your GP before attending.

3. Assumption of Responsibility

You are responsible for your own health, safety, and belongings.

  • Sweatfolk, NRMA Bright Caravan Park, and their staff are not liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from participation.
  • A host may guide your session, but you must follow instructions and stay within your limits.
  • Failure to follow directions or signage may result in removal without refund.
4. Children & Supervision
  • Children under 16 are not permitted in the sauna.
  • Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must also accept these terms.
5. Fire & Safety
  • Fire and temperature management are conducted only by Sweatfolk staff.
  • Guests must not touch the stove, heater, or fire tools.
  • Fire extinguisher and fire blanket are available onsite.
  • In an emergency: alert the host or call 000, then notify Sweatfolk via the emergency number provided in your booking.
6. Conduct & Behaviour
  • No alcohol, drugs, smoking, or nudity in or around the sauna.
  • Remove jewellery to prevent burns.
  • Respect shared use and other guests’ comfort.
  • Follow host guidance on session length, cooling, and hydration.
  • All guests must vacate at the end of the booking time.

Additional fees:

  • $25 fee may apply for overstaying your session.
  • Unsafe or disrespectful behaviour may result in immediate removal without refund.
7. Cold-Water Immersion (Morses Creek)
  • Sweatfolk sessions do not include, supervise, or operate cold-water immersion.
  • Morses Creek is a public natural area — entry is at your own risk.
  • No lifeguard or supervision is provided.
  • Risks include cold shock, hypothermia, submerged hazards, currents, and slippery rocks.
  • If you enter the creek, you do so independently of Sweatfolk and at your own risk.
8. Group Bookings

If you book on behalf of others, you confirm that all participants:

  • Have been informed of these terms; and
  • Agree to comply with them.
9. Release & Indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you:

  • Release and discharge Sweatfolk, NRMA Bright Caravan Park, and their staff, owners, and operators from liability for injury, illness, property damage, or loss arising from your participation; and
  • Agree to indemnify Sweatfolk against any claims, damages, or expenses resulting from your actions or those of your invited guests.
